takes a great deal of time to administer such a large web site with all the
various activities it entails. Expenses are not insignificant.
During the year 2000-1, our family has faced severe financial problems,
and the existence of this website is being threatened due to lack of
funds. We are disabled persons. The only utilities we have are
telephone and lights... no running water. Basically, our family is nearly
homeless, and living on the property of friends in a 16 x 32' uninsulated
shack in the mountains of Missouri. The internet is an extremely
efficient means of disseminating information, but it is not free
to operate, nor is it quite THAT efficient. One dollar per visitor
would have covered our expenses as well as compensated for some labor costs.
